History and Arts Week Summer 2009
Following the success of last year's Arts Week, this year Norman Court hosted a History and Arts Week in June. The focus for the week was Medieval History.

Norman Court was off timetable and in home clothes for this inspirational week of medieval activities. The most amazing opportunities were given to the children: building a clay oven and baking their own bread inside, building a wattle and daub roundhouse for the animals, learning circus skills, jousting, papermaking, medieval cookery and medieval surgery, experiencing the longbow and crossbow, creating a ‘Bayeux' tapestry, re-enacting the Battle of Hastings and so much more.
A number of experts came to the school, including the President of the Jester's Society, the ex Warwick Castle Longbowman, a world renowned minstrel, the Hawk Conservancy and Wessex Archeology.

Bringing history to life was a hugely beneficial experience for all those involved, a fantastic learning experience and such a lot of fun!
