It has been more than sixty years for some; others come to school every day to drop off or collect their grandchildren. All were instantly at home at Norman Court on Tuesday. Over 90 grandparents came from all over the country to go back to school for the day. The Headmaster welcomed them with his inspirational thoughts on how to be a good grandchild (manners, caring and thoughtfulness as well as a practised line in jokes). He then delighted the Grandparents by reminding them not to run in the corridor.
After a hearty home cooked lunch with the children, the Grandparents were treated to a concert from the School's renowned musicians and several choirs. Then it was straight to work in the classrooms as part of a tour of the school by the senior pupils.
Laughter and chat rang out over tea and Chef Mo's famous Monster Cake, before some extremely satisfied grandparents reluctantly made their way home.
