Our Pre-Prep Department has its own building in a beautiful woodland setting, with two dedicated outdoor play areas and specialist early-years staff. It is spacious, well-equipped and is a wonderful environment for young children to learn and play in.
|
Our two to five year olds follow the Foundation Stage curriculum and we are also enthusiastic pioneers of the Forest Schools programme. This takes the children outside to explore the local environment and gives them a chance to develop their social skills and to learn to love the natural world. We are ideally positioned for this, in 50 acres of glorious Hampshire countryside close to Winchester, Salisbury in Wiltshire, Romsey and Andover.

At Key Stage One (6-7 years) the children continue to follow the Forest School ethos which is incorporated within the National Curriculum.
|
We provide full or part-time nursery education to children from 2 years 9 months, operating under the Government's voucher scheme.
The Pre-Prep Department has strong links with the main school to ensure continuity and progression in children's learning.

“By the end of the foundation stage all pupils achieve the nationally recommended levels for children of their age and some exceed expectations….… Pupils in Years 1 and 2 make good progress and easily achieve in line with their ability range.”(ISI Inspection Report)
“Of particular note, in the pre-prep department is the school's involvement in the forest schools initiative. This provides a practical, hands-on approach to learning out of doors and it helps pupils understand their outdoor environment very well.” (ISI Inspection Report)
