A Typical Boarding Day at Norman Court

Boarders get up at 7.30 in the morning, get dressed and then have breakfast. Our friends who are day pupils arrive in time for Registration and Tutor time at 8.20am.
We then have Chapel followed by lessons until 10.40am and then morning break called GAB (Grab a Biscuit) and a drink. There are more lessons or games until lunchtime.
After our lunch we can play or go to a lunchtime club or activity. Many musical groups, including choirs, jazz group and samba band meet now.
Afternoon registration in Tutor groups is at 1.55pm then we have two lessons for Years 3, 4, 5. Games for Years 6, 7, 8 (Football, Rugby, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Rounders, Swimming, Athletics – according to the time of the year).
We have an Afternoon Break and “GAS” (“Grab a Sandwich” and a drink) but this is now fruit! There are two more lessons, including Prep and “Golden Time” for the youngest before the end of the school day at 4.45pm. We then have a great choice of afternoon Clubs and Activities including golf, tennis, warhammer, bead making, Brownies, music, yoga.......Or Prep for day children At 5.30pm our friends who are day children go home but many of them stay for flexi-boarding nights. We then prepare for our evening meal and have free time until at 6.30pm when we do our prep but it's free time for younger pupils
Between 7.30pm and 9pm we all have free time, with games, television, films, before an evening hot chocolate and a biscuit, then shower/bath and bed. The end of another busy day at Norman Court! |
