CANFORD CROSS COUNTRY
An outstanding performance by both the boys’ and the girls’ teams.
Fierce competition required each runner to give 100% and we were very proud of how determined Norman Court was to win. The girls out-performed previous years’ results by coming 3rd / 4th and runners included Olivia Berry, Rebecca Hunt, Yalina Blumer and Ella Hamblin.
The boys’ team came 4th / 5th and Ben Bourne completed the course in a very good time – Luke Fletcher, Henry Court, Jude Deane also ran well.

Outstanding Ethos
for Learning
Posted: May 09, 2007
1:43 pm
The recent inspection of Norman
Court Prep School (West Tytherley) has praised the school’s, “Outstanding
ethos for learning,” which encourages in pupils a very positive approach
to learning. The DfES accredited Independent Schools’ Inspectorate, which
visits every six years, spent four days at the school in February during
which they looked at every facet of the school’s life, including its strong
links with the community.
The inspectors particularly praised the outstanding pastoral care, boarding
life, PE, games, extracurricular activities and Learning Support. The
school was described as a, “Listening school,” with excellent pupil behaviour,
exemplary manners and excellent relationships with parents – all of which
reflect the school’s family-centred ethos. Standards of achievement are
above average across the school’s broad ability range and throughout a
varied curriculum, “Which fosters their intellectual, personal, physical
and creative needs as well as their interests and aptitudes…they think
and act creatively and with growing confidence.”
The inspectors commented that, “Through accurate and conscientious self-evaluation,”
the school is constantly looking at its needs for future development.
In short, “Norman Court School very successfully reflects its aim to provide
a good, all round education.”
The report is a fitting finale to Kevin Foyle’s twelve year headship,
as he departs in July to become the founding Principal of The British
International School in Singapore, and an excellent starting point for
new Headmaster Paddy Savage. It also coincides with the Governors’ recent
announcement of an exciting development programme.
